I was recently introduced to painting on furniture with chalk paints and now I am hooked. Since I can't say enough about how much I love these paints, I won't. However, I am going to show you what I did with them along with some rice paper, and some wooden scrolls on a $2.00 estate sale bench, and a plant stand that Stephen made for me.
Both of these pieces were painted white about nine (9) years ago and they have sat waiting until recently for their transformation.

See the transformation in progress below. I think their wait was well worth it.

Here are the pieces with the addition of the rice paper.

These are the wooden scrolls I purchased to add onto the bench and plant stand. They got painted and embellished with paint, colored wax and mousse.

And then came the addition of the embellished wooden scrolls.

The final embellishment came with the use of 3 different colored mousses and applied as an outline along all of the edges as shown below.

Here's a closeup for you.

All I can say is that I am eagerly anticipating starting another project once I find my new subject. I'll be looking for something small like an old end table or a wooden framed mirror. I'll surprise myself! 😁
I’ll be back next Wednesday to show you what I’ve been working on. Hope you’ll stop by again for a visit.
