That's correct! I am basking in the 'LIME' light, which all began with two (2) simple Japanese-style lamps. The original lampshades were a bright white, but they showed signs of wear and tear. They appeared lackluster against the freshly painted vanilla creme-colored walls, and I also noticed a small hole and a faint stain on one of the shades. A makeover was definitely in order. Craving a vibrant touch, I opted to purchase some lime green rice paper to revamp those drab shades. During this process, I gained a new insight. When making purchases on Amazon, always check the shipping origin. In this instance, it was Thailand! Uh-huh! Consequently, it took around a month to finally arrive. Fortunately, I was delighted with both the color and quality.
Here is my first attempt at it, and I since I am pleased with the results, I plan to do more in the future.
These are the dull lamps in their initial condition.
This is a photo looking down on the shades.
Once the rice paper was applied to the original styrene, I had to fold the excess material under both of the top and bottom edges. This had not been done yet in this photo.
Feeling refreshed and rejuvenated, looking good, however...
See how alluring they appear when illuminated.
While waiting for the rice paper to be delivered (Zzzzzzzzzz...), I took the opportunity to 'lime' up a wooden shelf that Stephen had crafted for me 21 years ago. It had been displayed in the condo for around 8 years before inexplicably ending up in the garage. 😒
Here it has been stripped of its previous gold hue and is now prepared for painting.
Bring on the lime!
In order to adhere to my updated color palette, aqua and turquoise paint entered the scene.
Here it is, basking in its spotlight and prepared to display hopefully intriguing pieces that I am currently working on. What goes around, comes around, and in this instance, from conservative gold to vibrant and cheerful. 😁
I’ll be back next Wednesday to show you what I’ve been working on. Hope you’ll stop by again for a visit.
